September 12 - September 16 Hi families,  We hope you have had an awesome week!  Ethel M. Johnson school is participating in the Terry Fox Run on Tuesday, September 20th. Students will run with their designated colour groups that they will learn about on Monday. One of the goals of observing the life of Terry Fox and participating in this Canada-wide event is to raise money for the Terry Fox Foundation. The run demonstrates generosity and determination of those who participate in it. ‘Toonies for Terry’ will be collected from student classrooms during the week of September 19-23th, as well donations are accepted on-line at https://schools.terryfox.ca/EthelMJohnson On the day of our run, please remember to dress for the weather, wear your running shoes and each student is also encouraged to wear either their EMJ shirts or their color groups color.

Hello Room 18 Families!  Welcome to our classroom blog! We are very excited to share our learning with you here throughout the year.  This year, the blog will be written each Friday by our Grade 6's as part of ELAL collaborative writing. You can expect to find pictures and descriptions of important learning and events from our week, important upcoming dates, and plans for our week ahead.  Today was our first try at writing the blog together, and students learned to delegate roles, listen to ideas, and collaborate with new peers to achieve their common learning goal: blog writing! A few important things to note for our week ahead. Monday, students will begin their 'All About Me' presentations. They have been given time in class to work on them but will likely need time at home to finish and practice. As well, Thursday, September 15 is picture day !
